报告人简介:

Dr. Jieying Ding works on the inversion of satellite observations at KNMI since 2013. She got her PhD of Atmospheric remote sensing from Technology University of Delft (TUD). Her work is focusing on the emissions of air pollutants (e.g NOx, SO2, NH3) derived from satellite observations. She has participated in many EU and ESA projects including MarcoPolo (EU FP7), GlobEmission (ESA), SOLFEO (ESA), SEEDS (EU), CAMEO (EU), DRAGON and several other smaller projects.

报告简介:

The last years have seen a remarkable development of inversions from satellite observations. New techniques have been developed to exploit the high resolution and the daily global coverage of the TROPOMI observations and the SWIR channels of TROPOMI enhanced our capacity to derive emissions of CH4.  At KNMI various systems are developed for deriving emissions of NOx, NH3, SO2, CH4 and CO2. A combined inversion of TROPOMI and CrIS observations has been developed to derive both ammonia (NH3) and NOx emissions in parallel using the full inversion algorithm DECSO.  In addition, we have developed a method to estimate lightning NOx emissions over the Artic, and we study inland ship emissions of NOx. Anthropogenic and biogenic NOx emissions are distinguished in a post-processing algorithm and this allows us to derive CO2 emissions using a ratio method.A new mass balance/divergence method is developed for deriving methane emission fields and some divergence methods are exploited for SO2 emissions. Most methods are taking advantage of the high resolution of the TROPOMI observations. In this presentation an overview will be given to introduce the capabilities of new satellites, especially TROPOMI, for deriving emissions of air pollutants and greenhouse gases.
