专家简介：
台湾大学大气科学系名誉教授。1976年取得国立台湾大学学士学位，随后于1984年在UCLA获得大气科学博士学位。毕业后先后在UCLA和马里兰大学担任博士后研究员，并于1994年至2001年在美国太空总署Goddard太空飞行中心担任研究科学家，专注于研究热带云雨与气候的衛星资料与模式的结合。自2001年起，加入台湾中央大学和台湾大学任教。曾在日本东京大学和美国国家环境预报中心担任访问教授，并在多个学术机构举办研讨会和特邀讲座。研究领域涵盖热带气象学、气候动力学和水文气候过程等多个领域，发表论文100余篇，被引用7134次，h指数为42。
报告摘要：
We analyze “single-year” and “multi-year” El Niño events in observed and simulated long-term data. Both data show similar contrasting features including: onset timing, the strength during the growing-mature stage, the center of warm SSTA in the mature stage, and oceanic upwelling Kelvin waves during the decay stage. The early developing El Niño is shown (in AGCM-slab ocean model) to induce the remote WNP and IO responses to drive the WP easterly winds during the mature winter compared to the late developing El Niño. The fully coupled experiments are further designed to examine the role of WNP feedbacks in the El Niño-to-La Niña phase transition.
