报告题目：CyberGIS for Geospatial Problem Solving and Decision Making in the Era of Big Data

报告摘要：CyberGIS is an interdisciplinary field combining advanced cyberinfrastructure, geographic information science and systems (GIS), spatial analysis and modeling, and a number of geospatial domains to improve research productivity and enable scientific breakthroughs. It represents new-generation GIS that enable unprecedented advances in data-driven knowledge discovery, visualization and visual analytics, and collaborative problem solving and decision making. The growing importance of cyberGIS is reflected by increasing calls for solutions to bridge the significant digital divide between advanced cyberinfrastructure and geospatial communities. This presentation discusses challenges and opportunities for cyberGIS to empower geospatial problem solving and decision making in the era of big data.
报告人简介：王少文（Shaowen Wang），男，1995年获天津大学计算机工程学士，1998年获北京大学地理学硕士，2002年获爱荷华大学计算机科学硕士，2004年获爱荷华大学地理学博士，现为美国伊利诺伊大学厄巴纳-香槟分校（UIUC）终身正教授、文理学院冠名学者 (Centennial Scholar)，同时兼任美国国家超级计算应用中心（NCSA）副主任（主要负责CyberGIS及地球和环境科学应用）、UIUC先进数字与空间研究中心（CyberGIS Center）中心主任、美国科学院地球科学和资源学部常务理事、GeoInformatica执行编辑、SoftwareX副主编和多个国际期刊编委和特邀编辑。他的研究方向是CyberGIS和地球空间数据科学；时空分析及复杂环境和地球空间问题求解。作为项目首席科学家和总负责人，他主持了美国国家自然科学基金资助的开创性科研项目CyberGIS，引领了CyberGIS交叉学科的创建和发展，推进了CyberGIS及多尺度地球空间问题的研究水平。
