专家简介: 

Professor Lander’s research work encompasses a broad swath of topics related to tropical weather, tropical climate, typhoon forecasting and prediction, climate variability and climate change, and the ENSO phenomenon. Areas of interest and expertise include field work on Guam and across the Micronesia region, operational forecasting of seasonal typhoon risk and ENSO-related drought, basic research of the local hydrologic cycle and other water quantity topics and expert guidance on climate and climate-change issues in the U.S.-affiliated Pacific Islands. Professor Lander also is active in the international community, and has given lectures on tropical climate and typhoon behavior at venues in Thailand, Australia, Fiji, Majuro, Pohnpei, Hawaii, Korea and China. Prof. Lander also teaches from one to three graduate-level courses per semester in the Environmental Science (EV) program at the University of Guam. He also participates on the committees of graduate students in the EV program.
