专家简介：
Prof. Mak is a Professor emeritus of Department of Atmospheric Science, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. His research interest is concerned with the dynamics of different classes of large-scale atmospheric disturbances and their roles in the global circulation.
Prof. Mak received his master and Ph.D degrees in meteorology fromMassachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1966 and 1968. Since 1970 he has worked as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor and Department head at the Department of Atmospheric Science of UIUC.During 1985-1988, he was the editor of Journal of Atmospheric Science. In 1989 Prof. Mak was elected aFellow of American Meteorological Society.
